Does this lip require drilling into the factory bumper?

Yes. To safely secure the polyurethane splitter against high wind speeds and downward aerodynamic forces, mechanical self-tapping screws must be drilled into the plastic underside of the factory bumper shell.

How much lower does this make the front bumper?

This lip drops the lower visual line of the front bumper by approximately 1.2 inches. Because it is made of flexible polyurethane, it will easily bend and flex if it happens to touch the ground, rather than snapping.

Will it block the factory functional brake ducts?

No. The integrated corner aprons are sculpted specifically to wrap beneath the lower fascia, keeping the factory functional cooling channels fully open to feed fresh air directly to your brakes.

Do I need to prep the polyurethane surface before painting?

Yes. Like all raw polyurethane body parts, it requires a thorough wash with soap and water (to remove mold-release agents), a light sanding, and a proper plastic adhesion promoter/primer before applying paint or vinyl wrap.
